Does ICBC and Extended Health Plans Cover Counseling?
We at Absolute PhysioCare will directly bill ICBC as our Burnaby Counsellors and Therapists are BCACC (BC Association of Clinical Counsellors) and RCC (Registered Clinical Counsellors) certified which is required in order to be covered by ICBC and extended health plans.
Yes, ICBC covers your sessions with a valid ICBC claim number within the first 3 months of your accident. No medical referral is needed for counseling. After the 3 months, we will communicate with your ICBC claim specialist for approval for counseling so that you can get the help you need at no cost to you.
Great news, many extended health plans cover clinical counseling. Contact your extended health provider to find out how much you are covered for. Currently, some extended health plans do not allow us to direct bill; hence, you will need to pay for your treatment and submit it to your extended health plan provider for reimbursement.
