World Physiotherapy Day (WPD) is on September 8 each year. And each year, WPD has a theme that encourages the general public to be more mindful of musculoskeletal wellness. This past edition of WPD focused on low back pain, and the role of physiotherapy in its management and prevention. New Study Backs Physio for Seniors with Chronic Diseases

This month, results from a new study evaluating the impact of physiotherapy interventions on health outcomes among older individuals with chronic conditions including arthritis, osteoporosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, and hypertension were released.

Participants receiving physiotherapy showed statistically significant improvements in pain levels, mobility scores, and functional independence.
