What to Bring with You

Bring two pieces of valid ID (at least one with a photo) in addition to your WSBC, ICBC, and/or extended health plan policies (as applicable). If you can’t find the paperwork ensure that you have your policy number/s. For payment, please bring a credit card in case you don’t qualify for direct billing. Traditionally our Burnaby clinic accepts cash and debit as well, but over the last two years we have paused cash and debit card payments. Instead, we simply place your active credit card on file so that we can settle any payments in a contactless way using *Payfirma.

*Payfirma is PCI compliant (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and uses the same 128-bit encryption as the big banks around the world.  We will process your credit card on file and your receipt will be emailed to you.

What to Wear

In anticipation of being able to receive treatment today (more on this below), be sure to wear athletic or athleisure clothing that also allows a physiotherapist to access the injured/painful/impacted area. For example, if you have a sore shoulder, wear a tank top or loose fitting t-shirt underneath your top. If your knee is in pain, wear shorts. You get the idea!

What to Expect at Reception

Your friendly receptionist will ask about the type of pain or issue you are experiencing. This will help determine the type of treatment, which subsequently determines which therapist best suit your needs. From here, we then assess what level of coverage you have (as applicable). This is why we encourage you to bring a hardcopy or digital copy of your WSBC and/or ICBC documentation along with extended health policies. If pre-approvals are required, you will want to contact your policy adjuster/case manager prior to walking into our clinic. There’s a very good chance that you will qualify for direct billing! With all of that out of the way we will simply ask you to complete basic forms (common to all physiotherapy clinics in BC) so that we can get you in right away, or book your appointment for a later time or day.

Will You Get in Today?

We book walk-in patients based upon therapist availability. There is absolutely a chance that you can get in right away or within the same day, although it does depend upon who you need to see and whether or not they are available. The great news, is that we have a large staff which includes physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, chiropractors, a TCM acupuncturist, and registered clinical counsellor. Between our diverse team we’re typically able to provide treatment/therapy for walk-in patients.
